The Blue Sky

In the days of immemorial yore

The sky was radiant with colours galore

Violets and reds; shimmering golden

Greens of the seas; a little yellow stolen

Glistening with reflections of milieu

Amassing laughter, every fresh hue

One day, red walked away; lost

A friendship had swiftly turned to dust

Ensuing, the green slowly faded away

A dream had turned a bitter runaway

Love left today, and took joy along

The yellow followed too; it didn't belong

One by one, the colours slovenly left

Tearful sky watching, thoughts adrift

"It rains when you're sad, did you know?

Oh look, at the horizon. It's a rainbow!"

Sky watched aflame, lustrous arch agleam

Colours, now memories on mind's seams

The sky simpered solemn, at his expanse blue

"Can't you see, love! Now it's all just you"

Shades of yourself, brilliant and aglow

And they're always close- memories and rainbows
